The Cherryville Chamber of Commerce folks and Cherryville City Staff want everyone to know the town’s main festive holiday season is rapidly approaching.

They want the theme to be, “Let’s Celebrate the Holidays Together!”

Chamber President Richard Randall and Chamber VP Mary Beth Tackett said that the Christmas Parade, and the Christmas on Main Street Who-Ville sponsorship opportunities are now available.

Said Mrs. Tackett, “The Christmas Season is upon us and we’ve put together one big holiday season! It starts with ‘A Very-Cherry-Who-Ville Christmas on Main Street on Friday, Dec. 6, at 5 p.m., and lasts until 10:30 p.m., with a rain date of Saturday, Dec. 7.”

The Very Cherry-Who-Ville event is followed by the Cherryville Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 14, starting at 10:30 a.m., said Mrs. Tackett, in a media release.

Always a much-anticipated event now for Cherryville’s kids of all ages, Randall and Tackett noted this Christmas season the Christmas on Main Street/Who-Ville  will be  held at the Mini-Park in Downtown Cherryville (219 East Main Street).

Said Tackett, “Once again, we’ll uniquely celebrate

the holidays with the theme of Dr. Seuss’ ‘Who-Ville’, transforming Main Street and Downtown into a scene straight out of the Holiday Classic ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’!”

She continued, “And on Saturday, Dec. 14, we’ll have another exciting Christmas Parade! Once again, it’ll be one of the biggest parades in the region. With floats, bands, beauty queens, Shriners, and of course, Santa Claus, and more as the Christmas Parade celebrates another successful holiday season for Downtown Cherryville.”

Randall said, “These celebrations of community and holiday spirit are expensive promotions. The City of Cherryville and the Cherryville Chamber of Commerce underwrite most of the expenses associated with these events, but additional funds are needed. Thus, sponsorships are made available each year to help cover the cost of these events.

“We hope that you get in the holiday spirit and take advantage of the remaining Christmas on Main Street sponsorship opportunities. We still need a Presenting sponsor; a Who-Bilation Christmas Tree on Main Street sponsor; the Grinch’s Lair Gazebo sponsor; Cindy Lou Who’s Play Area sponsor; and there remain general Who-Ville sponsorships available.”

Also, there are Cherryville Christmas Parade sponsorships available as well, noted Mrs. Tackett, and they are seven participating Shriners Clubs.

“The Holiday Season approaches, so let us know right away if you’re interested in a sponsorship,” she said, adding that signs will be displayed with sponsors’ names on them.

“For more information on sponsorship costa and what remains, just call us at (704) 435-3451, or stop by the Chamber office at 220 East Main St., and talk to me,” said Mrs. Tackett.

“Please help us make the Cherryville Christmas Season memorable. Happy Holidays!”
